The Seven Seconds or Fewer Suns are ideal examples of incompleteness. Joe Johnson is not on that team. Johnson was a key scoring option for Phoenix and averaged 17.1 point per game for Suns. The omission of Johnson is a reason not to pick the Suns, especially in online matches that are highly competitive.

Charles Barkley's effort was not enough to propel the Phoenix Suns to the 1993 NBA Finals. The team was superb and included Charles Barkley in the prime of his career. The '93 Suns do not play even in the game as 2K doesn't wish to offer Barkley's salary.

2K Sports needs to reach financial terms with retired players to gain their likenesses into this game. This will allow 2K Sports the ability to build new units as well as complete the current teams. The list of omissions is extensive, but there are some notable names that are at the top of the list: Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Rasheed Wallace, Metta World Peace and Lamar Odom.

Other Classic Teams - Classic teams are my most favorite elements of NBA 2K. There is something pretty cool when you have teams with a history that stand off against each other. The 1996 Bulls are considered to be one of the best teams ever.

However, how does that Bulls team compare to the current NBA? The inclusion of classic teams resolves this issue. It's possible to have the 1996 Bulls playing against the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers' title-winning squad in the PlayNow mode of the game. It's pure fantasy basketball.
